School and Early Years
I always enjoy meeting lots of young writers, illustrators and model makers and have had the pleasure of working with children and young people in many schools and nurseries across the UK.
Since 2007 I have been working with teachers and education professionals to devise and deliver a host of different workshops and activity sessions on a wide range of themes.
Each project is unique and requires a different creative approach to really bring it to life for the children taking part.
For example we’ve explored rhymes in reading for World Book Day, made Diwali lanterns, celebrated books with a fairytale festival, designed and made miniature carnival costumes and even decorated cakes with a literary theme.
As a parent, children's writer and illustrator I believe it's never too early to start sharing books.
I have worked extensively within early years settings including Sure Start, devising and hosting sessions for families to support children in their learning and development, particularly in the areas of language and literacy.
I find early childhood learning fascinating, and my practice and research led me to qualify as an Early Years Teacher in 2015. My Four Seasons project uses themed storytelling and activities to encourage children aged 0-5 to discover and find joy in stories and books, while also supporting their development in all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

I have ideas to suit all budgets so if you have a topic at school or nursery - in any subject - that you would like to expand upon creatively, please contact me.
